Huawei by ONF's first multi-vendor wireless backhaul SDN PoC test

Huawei in October announced that it has with the Open Network Foundation (ONF) in Madrid, Spain successfully tested proof of concept (PoC). This test provides venue for by the Spanish telecommunications Telefonica and IMDEA Networks, as well as four wireless transmission manufacturers and router vendors are participating in the trial.

The trial aims to encourage open SDN through further development of wireless transmission mechanism. But also to demonstrate through the use of open-source network operating system controller can achieve a multi-layer optimization SDN.

PoC two use cases were verified, empty response capacity and energy used to verify the ability to adapt to wireless backhaul demand for traffic; traffic shaping is to verify the ability of multi-vendor network coordinated response backhaul network status changes, such as weather, etc. traffic causes changes.

Huawei's SDN RTN900 equipment and OpenFlow Interface debut in this test.
